Courageous at every turn, Ukrainians Misha (12) and his brother Pasha (9), turned out stars of the recent House of Opportunity Abseil Challenge. Having faced repeated air raids and the tragedy and disruption of war back home, they weren’t about to let a huge, overhanging cliff face in Weston-super-Mare prove too much for them. The brothers and their mother, Alla, joined the team of House of Opportunity abseilers for the afternoon and each did themselves proud as they took turns to descend the 100ft cliff.
“We want to give back” says Alla, a Ukrainian refugee who’s been in Salisbury since last August. “This charity is doing superb work in preventing modern slavery and exploitation, which is so important. I just hope people will sponsor us so we can do our bit to help.”
It’s not too late! If you’ve been inspired by Misha and Pasha’s bravery and would like to support them, you can donate via the button below. The boys and Alla will be so very grateful. Help to make their day!
If you are feeling brave, then why not take on the challenge yourself at our next abseil in the Autumn? You can find out how to join in here.
