After months of searching, negotiating and raising funds, our partner Hoću Zivotis planning to open a new House of Opportunity during the spring.
Hoću Zivot (I want life) is our partner organisation in Croatia. It has been running a House of Opportunity for several years, providing a vital path to independence for young people who have no support when they leave state care. The programme has had a profound and positive impact on the lives of hundreds of young people in Southeast Europe. You can check out some of their stories here. Hoću Zivot are eager to provide more opportunities to meet the need in northern Croatia.
The new House will be in the town of Novi Marof, the second in Varaždin County. The pictures don’t lie, the building needs a lot of work before new residents can be welcomed in! However, it is all superficial and our partners are hard at work sourcing local help to clean, decorate and kit out the house. We are very grateful to have received some grants and donations to help with the refurbishment.
